Kudos to Team NICMA for successfully hosting the 40th FCBM Conference – ‘CorruMeet 2011’ & the concurrent exhibition ‘CorruExpo 2011’ from December 16-18, 2011 at New Delhi. The 30 member delegation from EICMA is richer from the relevant Technical Sessions, Interaction & Fellowship with delegates from across the Globe.         
The fire tragedy at AMRI & callousness of the management & municipal body officials in flouting rules is a wake up call for all entrepreneurs to stringently adhere to the Fire & Factory License rules & set ones house in order for the safety & well being of all concerned. We pray to the Almighty for peace to the departed souls & courage to their relatives to cope up with the vacuum created.
We thank CBEC for issuing a clarification on the Association’s request; in agreement with our view that units having a liability of Rs. 1.0 crore & not Rs. 10.0 Lakhs (Cenvat + PLA) in the preceding year are only required to file ER-4, ER-5 & ER-6 Excise Returns.  The Federation is impressing on the Union Government in its Pre Budget Memorandum amongst other issues, the long standing demand of the industry for reduction of Import Duty on Paper & Board to facilitate availability of international quality Kraft Paper of high ECT & to check the erratic movement of domestic paper prices.
